Matthieu for verse 1 then Jesus was sent
by the spirit into the wasteland to be
tested by the evil one and after going
without food for forty days and forty

Galilee he saw two brothers Simon whose
other name was Peter and Andrew his
brother who were putting a net into the
sea for they were fishermen and he said

straightaway they let go the nets and
went after him and going on from there
he saw two other brothers James the son
of Zebedee and John his brother in the
boat with their father stitching up

synagogues and preaching the good news
of the kingdom and making well those who
were ill with any disease among the
people a news of him went out through
all Syria and they took to him all who
were ill with different diseases and
pains those having evil spirits and
those who were off their heads and those

well and they went after him great
numbers from Galilee and Decapolis and
Jerusalem and Judea and from the other
side of Jordan you see turn your
attention from the world on to God the
Word of God says it clearer I can do all
things through Christ who strengthens me

testing let’s be real here every testing
is an opportunity
for you to prove your loyalty your love
your sonship to God death is what every
test is it is the enemy who tests you
and who entices you but you had every

opportunity to say I worship my God at
all times and I am his servant only go

something that is not necessarily in
people’s eye but most likely when you
are alone for God searches the hearts of
men as to what they think and what their
purposes the enemy comes when he has
beaten you down to give you an
opportunity an opportunity to rise up to
curse God and follow the world it is
about your inner person it’s not
necessarily about your outer outward
appearance but at all times every test
is about you and your choice for the
enemy has been utterly defeated and now
as it was then it is always a choice
that you have to me
God gives us freedom to make a choice
