I came to you, not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring the testimony of God.
I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in Spirit and of power:
That your faith should stand in the power of God.
For Christ sent me to be a preacher of the good news: not with wise words, for fear that the cross of Christ might be made of no value.
